Description:

This was an appropriate title for a game: Misty Battlefield. It’s hard to think of anything that’s more boring and more generic and more equidistant from anything that I’m captivated by, and this entire review is so late after the game’s release because even I missed it! I am right into this thing. Luckily, one of DDNet’s most faithful readers advised me to play this, and I did, and I love it. I love all of you, and I know that names like this are good for the Japanese consumer, but for the love of Hatsune Miku, please hire someone to localize the name for the global release.

It actually matters. The Misty Battlefield. I would like to tell you what this acronym means, but I never learned. Either way, in a saturated marketplace that’s filled with just as many products and services, I was very curious to see how this adventure could stand out. I really liked it, but it was a missed opportunity to stand out from the crowd.

C.a.R.D.S. RPG: The Misty Battlefield NSP Key Features:

Fog of War: Battlefields are overcast. Once you have moved units, the mist lifts to expose the enemy’s hiding spots, treasures, and tactical facilities.

Position is important in Unit Classes: There are a variety of different unit types (like Fire Emblem), and when moving the proper unit to the weak spot of an enemy, the enemy is “broken” for a turn.
Shared Deck System: As opposed to the usual deckbuilding, where each character gets their own deck of cards, everyone is going from a shared deck of cards.

More than 100 Card Varieties: A traditional SRPG game that combines hand-drawn Card Actions with movement. Players cast attack, defence, or utility cards to get the advantage to use their action points.

Loot & Equipment: When you deploy units on treasure chests, they get equipment (such as Steel Shields or Swords) which will permanently increase unit stats between stages.
