Arc System Works tends to be pretty high on the list when it comes to fighting games and Kill la Kill is a testament to that. They are also not too shabby at 3D twisting polygons that come after the illusion of 2D anime magic. In the studio’s latest venture, they take a step outside the lateral plains of Guilty Gear, BlazBlue and Dragon Ball FighterZ, to try their hand at competitive 3D arena brawler based around 2014 cult classic KILL lA KILL

If you’ve never watched KILL la KILL before it is a tale of two archenemies making any excuse to engage in good-natured scuffles with each other. Ryuko Matoi – the series hot-tempered main lead – wields one half of a pair of gigantic tailor scissors while being Hell-bent on avenging her father’s murder. Matoi is assisted by a somewhat telling, yet potent, blood-sucking sentient sailor suit, dubbed Senketsu.

Kill La Kill IF Key Features:

• Alternative Storyline: Alternate “IF” Storyline that branches off from the anime at Episode 8, and is narrated mostly from Satsuki Kiryuin’s viewpoint.
• High-Speed Action: 3D fights with high-speed action, aerial combat and simple button inputs for complex, anime-style combos.
• Rock-Paper-Scissors System: It is the core combat mechanic, where each of the three core actions—Normal Attack, Guard, and Break Attack—compete against each other, resulting in strategic and intense gameplay.
• Bloody Valor: Mode: During the battle, the players can engage opponents in a verbal “debate” and receive bonuses such as damage, HP or gauge.
• Game’s amazing visuals: The game is modeled after the show’s intense artistic style, using 3D cell-look technology.
