Goons Legends Mayhem. It isn’t very nice to start off a review like that, but Mayhem Brawler is an awful program name for a game. May as well be ‘Fast Driver’ or ‘High Jumper’. It truly sounds like the laziest, always 89p in an eShop sale crap. It’s also a very poor advertisement for the game, as Mayhem Brawler is a surprisingly good beat-‘em-up that has far more to offer than its keep-on-scrolling title would imply.

Facing an epic adventure, players are thrown into the action to save Rondelia – a once-peaceful and prosperous kingdom where hockey is the heart and soul. Select one of the eight distinctive characters in three classes: Sharpshooter is for attacking, Enforcer for defending, and Wingman for helping their team or harassing their opponent.

• Unique Character Classes: 8 different characters divided into 3. Sharpshooters are on the attack side, Enforcers are on the defense side, and Wingmen are multi-faceted, providing support to their teammates or opponents.
• Relentless Goalie Bosses: Goalkeepers are not just sitting ducks, but active boss fights who will disrupt your attempts at scoring through long-range mortar attacks, melee charges, and special moves.
• Action-Packed Story Mode: A solo campaign in which the player can immerse themselves in the lore of Zambonia to meet and face the Great Mascoteer “Humongous” to save the “Hockeyverse” from his villainous actions, with each mission having its own challenges.
• Versus & Co-Op Modes: The game has a 1v1, 2v2, and 3v3 multiplayer option with friends or random players online, which is reminiscent of the “couch co-op” days.
• Dynamic Mythical Arenas: Each level has unique environmental dangers, mechanics, and environments, from snow-covered fish markets to wizarding magical realms.
