Akiba’s Trip may be a perverted romcom (and it kind of is), but Akiba’s combat is surprisingly strong. At PAX East, I played the demo on a controller with the right-hand buttons being high kick and low kick/crouch punch as in a fighting game. This is a ward of suburban Tokyo that has witnessed more than its fair share of Japan’s reconstruction and economic bubblegum manipulation in the 1980s.

• The “True” Kati Route: a brand new story scenario for the Finnish exchange student and part-time maid Kati Räikkönen. This route (which was originally planned but not implemented) ends with a new definitive “true ending”.

• True to its title, F aithful Recreation is an interactive love letter to Tokyo’s “Electric Town”, which meticulously replicates more than 130 actual sites and stores from Akihabara.
• Satirical Story: Manipulate relationship dialogue chains to branch off into several divergent paths, with unique ending branches.
• In-Game Smartphone: Use the in-game Pitter app, side quests, and the smartphone to find out about vampires and navigate the city.
