Contra: Operation Galuga NSP/ XCI ROM – There seems to be no interest from Konami in reviving their wonderful IPs, and Contra is one of them. It’s been over 15 years since a fresh take on Contra was officially released; that’s now the case with Contra: Operation Galuga. WayForward is the only console developer to have been given the green light to develop the game for the Nintendo Switch by Konami. The game was released in March 2024.

For Contra players from the 1980’s, there are some major changes in store. Contra: Operation Galuga is a rehash of all the classic run and gun Contra games of old. Contra: Operation Galuga takes a major step towards making the Nintendo Switch hardware more powerful with vastly improved graphics, sound, stages, enemies, bosses, gameplay and weapon systems. Also, a new co-op 2-player combat mode is added.
