Description:

The initial reviews of Sonic Mania were extremely positive at SEGA’s Sonic the Hedgehog 25th Anniversary event on July 22, 2016 in San Diego. Me and my fellow SEGA bits team member George went hands on with the game and had nothing but positive things to say. I recall my demo session very clearly when I did not feel anything was amiss. Sonic Mania played like any of the classic Genesis Sonic games.

This wasn’t a surprise, as Christian Whitehead and Simon Thom ley whose previous works included the remasters of Sonic CD, the original Sonic the Hedgehog and Sonic the Hedgehog 2, were behind the upcoming game along with Pagoda West Games of Major Magnet fame.

Sonic Mania NSP Key Features:

• A new Heavy Ground Slam: ability for Mighty the Armadillo and a new Glide ability for Ray the Flying Squirrel.
• Encore Mode: A brand new mode of play that remixed familiar zones, changes character colors and even has a mechanism that lets you switch characters through a party from the different characters you can play as during the game.
• Local multiplayer 4-player split-screen races and online leaderboards challenge friends in Competition & Time Attack Modes.
