Yet another Switch game that leaves me uneasy about. As the self-proclaimed No. 1 Kirby fan who has been hawking the current Golden Age of the series, which has seen nothing but superb gameplay and action that rival, in my opinion, anything produced by Masahiro Sakurai in the 90’s, an explosion of lore, and a ceaseless flood of spin-off games and merchandise, it makes me no joy to admit that we’re entering an era that’s, well, less than perfect.

As much as I may have been tempted to take a liking to last year’s Kirby Star Allies, even the more open versions of predatory monetization in this HD sequel to Team Kirby Clash Deluxe 3DS from 2017, built on the same premise, just with the same free-to-play shady tactics, feels like it’s not enough.

Super Kirby Clash NSP Key Features:

• Four Unique Roles: Kirby has 4 unique classes with 4 different Kirby Playstyles and Abilities modeled after Classic Copy Abilities.
• Sword Hero: A balanced front line fighter, slicing enemies and casting a huge shield to shield allies.
• The greatest: of all the powers, with staggeringly high damage with the heavy mallet swings, but slow.
• Beam Mage: A ranged support, deals magic damage and has the ability to slow down bosses if the proper amount of damage is done.
• Doctor Healmore: A dedicated healer who is able to cast healing puddles to keep the party alive in tough battles.
