In 1998, the desktop faithful were feasting on games like Half-Life and Unreal,l but a little console called Nintendo 64 wasn’t about to take the hit. A year ago, Rare was showing everyone the detailed layouts of Goldeneye 00,7 and now they had Quake 64 and a Turok 2.

Seeds of Evil. Black cartridge and a combat design that was creative and unapologetically bloody, Iguana Entertainment’s sequel was yet another testament to Nintendo’s ability to shoot with the big boys. It’s amazing to look back at a time when the majority of first-person shooters were played on PC, instead of consoles today.

Turok 2: Seeds of Evil  NSP key Features:

• The arsenal of 20+ weapons is famous in the game Cerebral Bore Turok 2, but the Cerebral Bore is the standout. It shoots a homing bullet which attaches to the enemy, burrows into their skull, and explodes.
• In Over-the-top Arsenal: Beyond the Bore, players can use a multitude of weapons such as a Tek Bow, a Flamethrower, a Scorpion Launcher, and a planet-killing Nuke.
• Vicious Enemy A.I. & Gore: Enemies will act intelligently and move around to take cover and flank the player. The game has a lot of advanced (for the time) gore/dismemberment.
• Seeds of Evil’s expansive Non-Linear Levels are unlike the linear shooters of its day, with a focus on massive worlds to explore, backtrack in, and complete multiple times.
• Players will pick up: Sacred Eagle Feathers to unlock special warp portals that will give Turok magical Talisman abilities.
