Description:

Wizardry Proving Grounds of the Mad Overlord: In the early days, Trebor was just a man who was obsessed with power, but he went clinically insane when he acquired a magic amulet with an awesome amount of power. But his enemy, Werdna, the evil Archmage, stole the amulet from him.

Werdna, not quite sure of his/her own abilities to use the amulet, inadvertently causes an earthquake, causing a 10 level deep dungeon to form under Trebor’s castle. In an attempt to seem not a fool, Werdna announces that the dungeon will now be his new home and his new armies of monsters will be dwelling there. Not to be outdone, Trebor proclaims the labyrinth to be his new Proving Ground.

Wizardry Proving Grounds of the Mad Overlord NSP Key Features:

• Original 1981 Game Logic: The game logic is implemented directly on top of the original game (from 1981). Purists can even switch to a classic view mode to experience the retro interface when playing.
• 3D Visuals and Audio: The labyrinth, monster encounters and spells have all been updated or redesigned in high-quality 3D graphics and animation as well as ambient scores.
• Deep Party Customization: You have a maximum of 6 adventurers to make up your party from 5 races (Humans, Elves, Dwarves, Gnomes, Hobbits) and 3 alignments (Good, Neutral, Evil) – you carefully select characters from the standard and elite character classes.
• Unforgiving Difficulty: This mode is known for its hardcore “boomer shooter” gameplay, where characters are permanently killed by traps and the mazes in the dungeons are extremely challenging.
• Modern Quality-of-Life: The challenge is unchanged, but the remaster introduces quality of life changes such as action redirection (which allows you to attack again if the enemy has died before your turn), automatic mapping and improved party and spell management.
