Description:

Star Overdrive DEMO: A player is sent a mysterious distress signal and is thrust into an alien world on a hoverboard. Classic sci-fi trope. It’s when he’s doing it that things start to get interesting, though. The hoverboard doesn’t simply exist as a gimmick or a retooled horse; it’s the foundation that the entire game hinges upon. Combat? It is carried out on the board. Exploration? Board. Taking a sprint from huge monsters? Believe it or not, they’re doing it on that board.

The hoverboard will not be used simply to navigate, but will be getting players ready to engage in melee combat while maintaining the momentum, and learning to work with all these unlockable abilities along the way. There’s a lot we don’t know as of yet, but the fundamental concept of battle, one that never lets go of the sense of perpetual movement, is just captivating. Take your friends on a quick ride on the hoverboard in Star Overdrive! You are a Daredevil, Bios, the spiky-haired, silver-haired daredevil who discovers that he is on the mysterious planet of Cebete.

• Dynamic Hoverboard Exploration: Ride quickly around huge planetary surfaces, execute high-flying tricks in mid-air, and link maneuvers to get a boost in speed.
• Innovative Keytar Combat: Take on the role of a warrior wielding a versatile, musical-weapon/energy-shield to attack and vanquish natives and bosses with melee and elemental powers.
• Emergent, Physics-Based Powers: Use powers to change the environment in your favor, creating jump pads or using gravity to outsmart enemies and solve puzzles.
• You’re a Bios named Story Setup, whose lover, Nous, has vanished on the mining planet of Cebete. You begin the journey from where she has left her distress beacon, which you don’t know the exact location of.
• Beginner Crafting & Upgrades: Gather early resources and begin upgrading your hoverboard’s stats and appearance of your hoverboard using workbenches.
