DISCRIPTION:

Urban Myth Dissolution Center is a game in which Azami is the character in this game and goes to the titular Urban Myth Dissolution Center for help. She’s always seen ghosts and shadows interacting with the rest of the world, and she wants to get rid of them. But when she encounters the mysterious Director of the center, she discovers that these visions are in fact ‘clairvoyance’ and the ability to see shadows of past events.

In this way, she starts collaborating with the Center to investigate cases and solves the mysteries by clairvoyance. The gameplay is reminiscent of some of my favorite games: the Ace Attorney series. Urban Myth Dissolution Center is a visual novel game with a dash of adventure. The game is centered on a storyline, interspersed with some investigation. The investigation section consists of two: social networking research and explorative, point-and-clickgames without the mouse.

Urban Myth Dissolution Center NSP KEY FEATURE:

• Paranormal Detective Gameplay: Explore the world and uncover clues, after which enter the “shadow past” with a special pair of “ghost glasses” and see ghostly prints and dimensional anomalies.
• Modern, internet-based gameplay: the game is based on modern social media, and its mechanics are internet-based. You read what people post on social media and on discussion boards, and read what you see on the internet and hear about online, to check for validity and how urban legends grow.
• After gathering circumstantial evidence, players complete puzzle-like deduction sequences, piecing together important clues to arrive at a logical conclusion, and then “dissolve” the myth.
• Psychedelic Pixel Art: The game is done in a very eye-catching, high-contrast, and colorful pixel art style, with the settings often being mundane but otherworldly with visual distortions.
• Episodic Narrative: Solve individual cases involving internet folklore, cryptids, and the paranormal. The stories are episodic, but as you work your way through the series, the stories are interconnected and form a larger, overarching subplot that mocks modern internet culture.
