Description:

The story is pretty light, dealing with our heroes’ efforts to understand how his computer world works in MainFrames. Notwithstanding, there is a lot of worldbuilding and lore and a lot more than I was expecting, and it’s pretty good. MainFrames is a fairly light story about our protagonists journey to understanding how his computer world works, with the help of NSWpedia. There is still a lot of world-building and lore, though, and it’s much better than I had anticipated. As a floppy disk, Floppy is as inventive a name as any you’ll find.

MainFrames NSP Key Features:

• Window Manipulation: The principal gimmick is the manipulation of live program windows via drag, resize and scroll to form pathways and bridges across the screen.
• Meta-Desktop Mechanics: Levels are conducted on different frames of the meta-Desktop Mechanics. You will come into contact with system files, manipulate the environment with cursors, and even produce “Blue Screens of Death” (BSOD) to make glitched data safe platforms.
• Chill Soundtrack: A lo-fi original soundtrack to help keep you in the zone as you navigate through the trickier platforming sections.
• Quirky Narrative: Floppy finds himself in the company of colorful characters, such as a penguin telling him how to use Linux, and mysterious software daemons, in order to solve the problem of a broken digital system.
• Beyond the basic: platforming elements, there are Secret Areas & Puzzles to explore, hidden exits and collectibles to discover, and unique physics puzzles in each zone.
