Description

STASIS: BONE TOTEM is not a “sequel” to Stasis and Cayne, but it does continue their story of a setting set in the far future. A character from the first is referred to by name (one time), and there are hints of the events in the latter, but newer players should be able to follow the logic of Bone Totem without the aid of the other two. The previous games, particularly Cayne, will enhance the depth, resonance, and context here, but are not necessary for their enjoyment.

It was difficult to imagine anyone else ever trying to make an entry of this kind feel organic and necessary; it’s a breath of fresh air that Chris and Nicholas Bischoff have taken with Stasis: Bone Totem. A big and confident sequel, more than twice as good as its predecessor in almost every aspect that counts: when it falters, mostly in the overstuffed final third, it is due to its reach being greater than its grasp.
