Description:

The PICROSS S4 NSP series is by now a somewhat familiar genre to Nintendo’s digital roster. Every few months, one can expect another major new entry or spin-off, and one can more or less anticipate the nature of the next new entry: another large set of nonagram puzzles to solve. Although it doesn’t really add anything to the series, Picross S4 is finally available in the eShop.

In each puzzle,e you are presented with a grid surrounded by a bank of numbers, all of which tell you exactly how many numbers must be placed in that row or column and in what order. It is hard to tell what the details of this are going to be, and in the process, you have to keep in mind how cross-referencing the number sets and deducing where they overlap, without having to discard ‘empty’ cells along the way.

PICROSS S4 Key Features:

  • Picross: Nonogram puzzles with number clues to fill in in the standard fashion to reveal a hidden pixel art image.
  • Mega Picross: Has “Mega Numbers” which can be played across two rows or columns, for a different level of difficulty in the classic rules.
  • Color Picross: Presents challenges using grids with more than one color, which requires more different logic to fulfil the hint numbers.
  • Picross: Clips: Puts together several smaller pictures to create a large group picture.
  • Extra: Series veterans will find big, specialized 30×30 puzzles.
  • Pieces of Puzzle: 485 puzzles divided into Picross, Mega Picross, Clip Picross, and Color Picross.

Installation Instructions

There is no difference between NSP and XCI formats — both run exactly the same on any Nintendo Switch emulator. Your downloaded PICROSS S4 file is in NSP format.
To play on an emulator, open your emulator, go to File → Load File (or drag and drop), and select the downloaded NSP file.
Ensure your emulator has at least Firmware 9.0.1 installed before launching PICROSS S4.
On a hacked Nintendo Switch, install the file using Tinfoil (highly recommended) or DBI Installer.
The direct download link may occasionally be slow or unavailable due to high traffic. If it fails, please wait a moment and try again.
