Description:

Bleach: Brave Soul Reapers are a group of warriors known as Fighting Hollows, and they are apparently often at war in the Human world. One night, a Soul Reaper named Rukia encounters a young man named Ichigo and transfers her power to him to help him beat a Hollow. This is seemingly disapproved of, and so the story goes on from there. Yes, it becomes increasingly bizarre, including a woman who can transform into a cat and more.

Not being a mega fan of the manga, I can’t say if the representations of the various characters are bang on or not, but they look pretty good to me! They’re presented in a kind of super deformed style (think Funko Pop style and you won’t be far off) and the animation is effective. I will say that one thing I have to mention is the user interface, or UI. Bleach: Brave Souls is definitely a ported mobile game, and little effort has been made to convert it and make it usable on the console. I personally can see this when I get called to “Tap screen” at the end of each mission – I have tapped my TV on Xbox, and no sign of life.

• Retake the Way: Go through some of the key moments and storylines of the series from the very beginning, starting with Ichigo’s first encounter with Rukia!
• Side Stories: Original and non-canon stories and spin-offs, such as the Spirits Are Forever With You (SAFWY) collaboration, overseen by Tite Kubo, the creator of the series.
