Description:

Chained Echoes is a decade-old JRPG set in a 16-bit era with a storyline set across the war-torn and diverse territory of Valandis to end the war between the 3 Kingdoms. The world is filled with cute characters, mean enemies, and bakers who use wood as a culinary ingredient, and you’ll have to fight in turn-based combat, wielding complicated pieces of equipment and sa kill system against those who threaten to eat you.

I really enjoy this game, to be honest. The 16-bit style graphics, the care taken with the minutiae, the humor woven throughout,t and combat all sparkle here. The battle didn’t seem all that choppy, py and I did feel like I wanted to talk to the NPCs scattered around the world, something I don’t normally feel.

Chained Echoes NSP Key Features:

• The Overdrive System: Battles involve using the “Overdrive” gauge. The meter stays within the ‘green zone’ and minimises the amount of skills consumed and the amount of damage they inflict on the tar. If it overheats, it inflicts ‘debuffs’.
• Mech Combat (Sky Armor): Players can command and battle in giant mechanical suits to explore and engage in unique, resource-disparate combat.
• On-Screen Enemies: No random encounters; enemies will appear on the map, and fighting will start instantly when the threat is spotted.
• Swap on the Fly: You can change characters in and out of your four-person battle party on the fly without wasting a turn.
• Reward board: A one-of-a-kind achievement-style board that rewards players for certain combat or exploration achievements.
