 Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition. The protagonists Serge, Kid,d and Magil enter the Manor to rob the Frozen Flame, hence the title of Radical Dreamers. When a developer brings back a long-neglected classic after years, there’s always the question to ask: does the remaster respect the original and still succeed in making a difference that will draw both new and old players to the game?

This Radical Dreamers Edition does have another game, though: the elusive visual novel, Radical Dreamers, which was released way back in 1996 on the Satellaview peripheral for the Super Famicom in Japan. Until now there was no way to play Radical Dreamers in the West outside of a fan-translated ROM hack. This is no mere add-on to a popular game for the Chronoseries; it’s a bonus for all fans of the Chrono series.

• Includes Radical Dreamers: a text-based audio novel with Serge, Kid, and Magil for the first time localized. It first appeared in 1996 on the Satellaview peripheral and is the backdrop to the story of Chrono Cross.
• Enhanced Visuals: 3D models converted to HD and character drawings have been polished up. There is also a background filter to choose from, and the ability to switch between the new designs and the original PlayStation graphics.
• Quality of life improvements: A series of switches makes things easier, such as the ability to turn off random enemies and the auto-battle switch, as well as the battle boost switch.
• Enhanced soundtrack: with higher quality and refined versions of Yasunori Mitsuda’s famous soundtrack.
• Classic JRPG Mechanics: Experience the signature combat system, with the “Elemental Field” effect, and the huge party of more than 40 party members to recruit.
