I came into Rooftops & Alleys: The Parkour Game with a “love it, or leave it” mentality. Some of the greatest parkour games of all time, such as Mirror’s Edge and Assassin’s Creed, were my childhood favorites. And since Rooftops & Alleys has the same stylish flair as Mirror’s Edge, albeit with a stylish trick-focused twist, à la Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater, my hopes were high.

However, what I found was a clunky sandbox that puts a premium on patience, as it is about skill. Rooftops & Alleys is more than just a game about Parkour & Freerunning. The feeling of doing an impossible trick combo, defying gravity and flying… until you crash face-first into a dark alley 30 metres down.
