Description:

Rose & Camellia begins with presenting another character, Reiko, to you. She has married into the Tsubakikoji family, but was unfortunate enough for her husband to die the day after. To top it off, her new family is not very welcoming as they don’t appreciate her noble birth and treat her as an outsider. To prove herself, she has to slap them all down until they will accept her as one of them.

Fights are played in a similar fashion to Super Punch Out, except they are turn by turn. You have a limited amount of time to strike on your turn, at which point you’ll need to try and evade the incoming attack. The control system is quite straightforward: you use the offensive/defensive button, and then swing the joy-con in the direction you want to go. Funny, but it feels good because the person feels like they are part of the activity, but it’s bad because they don’t have any sort of controller support for anyone who wants it. Handheld mo is also available for you to play at.

Rose and Camellia NSP Key Features:

  • Slap-based Gameplay: The gameplay is based on “open-handed duels,” in which the player has to anticipate when to attack (slap) and defend (dodge) opponents to improve their chances, akin to “a dumbed down version of Punch-Out!!”.
  • Two Control Methods: Players can play using the Nintendo Switch’s motion-based Joy-Con controls (acting out a slap), or touch screen swipes.
  • Multiple Scenarios: The series features Rose & Camellia 1, 2, 3, & 4 and a crossover featuring La-Mulana, for five different readings!
  • Combat(Reflex): The player has to read an opponent to avoid and return an attack. A meter is used to show who is to attack or defend.
  • Visual Style: The game’s art is “gorgeous anime style” with dramatic motions when you make a successful slap, which is “poised”.

Installation Instructions

There is no difference between NSP and XCI formats — both run exactly the same on any Nintendo Switch emulator. Your downloaded Rose and Camellia file is in NSP format.
To play on an emulator, open your emulator, go to File → Load File (or drag and drop), and select the downloaded NSP file.
Ensure your emulator has at least Firmware 18.1.0 installed before launching Rose and Camellia.
On a hacked Nintendo Switch, install the file using Tinfoil (highly recommended) or DBI Installer.
The direct download link may occasionally be slow or unavailable due to high traffic. If it fails, please wait a moment and try again.
