Description:

DRAGON QUEST I & II HD-2D Remake is a tribute to the history of JRPGs: it’s the first two games of the series and sets them in the pixel-2D “HD-2D” genre that made it popular. The visual improvements are instant: chunky, expressive sprites perched atop richly detailed, diorama-style environments that pop up on both docked and handheld displays.

I also played the game using the keyboard/mouse input that can be used when the Steam Deck is docked, just to see how it feels to play the game via the keyboard/mouse option. The additional PC additions allow you to alter the key assignments, swap the confirm and cancel buttons, and turn off depth of field.

• difficulty settings: Notoriously difficult classic grind, remakes offer  To make the classic grind more accessible, the remakes feature difficulty settings like “Dracy Quest” mode, which stops your characters from getting knocked out.
