The Legend of Heroes: Trails through Daybreak II Switch NS, P, past couple of years, at least in terms of availability, the Switch has been a godsend for Trails fans. Performance and faithfulness to the original are other issues. When the story and game mechanics are pretty shoddily constructed, cracks in the window dressing become more noticeable, and I can’t say that I’m willing to admit that Trails through Daybreak II is the first Legend of Heroes game I’ve played where, after about a dozen hours, my motivation to ever do another round of the story completely waned.

Van Arkride reunites the band in the sequel, which features the returning characters from the first game, including Agnes, Elaine, and Feri, as well as new characters such as Swin and Nadia, both of whom were important characters in the previous game, Trails into Reverie. I’m struggling to not find their niche a little different from our roster of cast members on the first Daybreak, and I often wish I had more time with Van in the early to mid-game.
