I don’t blame anybody for being selective given Thank Goodness You’re Here! NSP the amount of new indie games that get released new every single month. If you only have a limited amount of time and money, then it’s not a possibility to purchase and play everything. Yes, we saw that in March with the amazing indie releases coming out, but many people only played one or two of them. I’ve had a decent shot at playing everything and everything else that’s been indie this year, save for Animal.

I believe Thank Goodness You’re Here (Coal Supper and Panic) will be the most memorable one that I had the most fun with. Then there is comedic influences, which the creators have mentioned Reeves and Mortimer as inspirations, and the Mighty Boosh. But slapstick, surreality and pop art are older than that and anticipate more than just Monty Python, Yellow Submarine and the lightheartedly subversive comics of the eighties, Whizzer and Chips and Whoopee.

Thank Goodness You’re Here! NSP Key Features:

• Only interactions with world: Jump and slap (Slapforming action): Slapping NPCs, animals and objects will deform them, cause hilarious reactions, and resolve puzzles.
• No combat, Inventory System: crafting or leveling up. Only exploration and situational comedy is involved.
• Looping Exploration: Completing odd jobs opens up new, previously blocked-off areas of Barnsworth, letting you continuously loop through the city to see how the townsfolk’s micro-narratives progress.
• Hand-Drawn Animation: The game’s visual style is very vibrant, beautiful, and fluid looking 2D cartoon style – with a combination of side-scrolling action vignette scenes and top-down exploration.
• The colorful inhabitants: speak authentic Northern English dialects and have voice acting added to their speech, and there is wall-to-wall double entendres and ripe humor.
