The PSP’s graphics and memory were comparable to those of 6th-generation consoles like the Xbox, PS2, and GameCube. In addition, with a dual-processor and hardware accelerator, it was capable of running ports identical to those of the initial PS2 versions. Sony Computer Entertainment created the famous PlayStation Portable (PSP) handheld video game console, which formed part of the 7th generation portable video game consoles.

Though it is said to be a very expensive handheld device compared to its previous models, its introduction was a great success. Others say it’s a failure, even though it’s a pretty good piece of hardware; Nintendo DS almost doubled sales. It still ranks in the top 10 most popular handheld devices and video games of all time, though.PSP was introduced to Japan in 2004, North America, and PAL in March and September 2005. The console has undergone many improvements since its release, with PlayStation Vita being its first successor.

• Performance Boosting: Allows for dynamic recompilation or JIT and Vulkan/OpenGL APIs, which will help games smooth out on the Switch’s underlying hardware.
