MIO: Memories in Orbit. A ship that is quickly decaying. The path she has to take must lead her to save all that she knows—even if she has no memory of who or what she is—as the ship and Mio herself begin to decay. Like other challenging, artistic, sprawling search action games such as the Ori series and the Hollow Knight series, Mio is a game of careful design choices, understated, beautiful audio and visual designs, and a way of cracking the difficulty that best exists in the form of words you wouldn’t use in front of your mother.

Progress in Mio is earned step by step, and when you do, you are often given more challenges to overcome. The early game is still tough, with the need to master accuracy on platforms and brutal bosses. It’s possible to spend hours trying to get another life segment added, but natural story progression in the game easily takes a life segment out while weakening Mio.

• Fluid Aerial Combat: Fast-paced, gravity-defying combat is encouraged with Fluid Aerial Combat, which instantly restores the double-jump when you attack enemies while airborne.
• Unique Boss Fights: Challenge more than 15 different bosses, and solve them with strategy and a trial-and-error approach.
• Dynamic Modifiers: Equip modifiers to customize Mio’s capabilities (similar to the way charms are equipped). From attack range to health, you can adjust anything you want with the balance of powerful buffs and strategic cons (such as giving up protection for more slot capacity).
• Movement is the star of the show: Hairpin, Grapple, and Dash. Jump through the canopy and across vast, interconnected biomes, evade danger, and cling to enemies.
• Hand-Drawn Aesthetics: The environments and characters are extremely beautiful and are drawn in a style like a graphic novel. All the biomes change in color and tone and melt into technology.
