Description:

Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020[b] is a 2019 crossover sports video game developed and published by Sega for the Nintendo Switch. It’s the sixth title in the Mario & Sonic series, which is a crossover between two video game franchises—Nintendo’s Super Mario and Sega’s Sonic the Hedgehog—following its Olympic Games 2016 release, and the first since the Rio 2016 Olympic Games edition. It also came out for arcade cabinets in 2020.

Let’s first discuss some of the good minigames. There are some really awesome moments to look back on in Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 that I was impressed with. I love rugby sevens, it’s definitely my favorite sport that’s included in this package. I hate sevens (XV all the way baby), but I can’t say I’m not impressed by the simple way that the game’s rules are implemented (passing sideways, scrums, conversions, etc.). This is no hyperbole, this is probably the most fun I’ve ever had playing a video game version of rugby.

Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 NSP Key Features:

  • In addition to returning sports that include archery, boxing, equestrian, and football (soccer), skateboarding, surfing, sport climbing and karate are included.
  • Classic 2D Events (1964): Take a trip to the 1964 Tokyo Games where classic events (such as 100m Dash, Volleyball and Judo) are rendered in 8-bit and 16-bit graphics and behave like they would in old school arcade and console sports games.
  • Dream Racing: A crazy downhill race that’s like \(Sonic\) Adventure and \(Mario Kart.Dream Karate: A combat-only event where players can eliminate opponents to create their own colour panels on the ground, using objects such as POW Blocks.
  • Story Mode: Mario and Sonic are stuck in a video game console from the 80s by Bowser and Dr. Eggman and must embark on their adventures in a video game. You will visit different authentic places in Tokyo and engage in activities to advance the story.

Installation Instructions

There is no difference between NSP and XCI formats — both run exactly the same on any Nintendo Switch emulator. Your downloaded Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo file is in NSP format.
To play on an emulator, open your emulator, go to File → Load File (or drag and drop), and select the downloaded NSP file.
Ensure your emulator has at least Firmware 18.1.0 installed before launching Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo.
On a hacked Nintendo Switch, install the file using Tinfoil (highly recommended) or DBI Installer.
The direct download link may occasionally be slow or unavailable due to high traffic. If it fails, please wait a moment and try again.
